Between 1950 and 1953 Dutton published the New American Editions under the Everyman's Libray banner.
Thirty-two titles were issued; ten were new to the series and assigned serial numbers between 641 and 650,
while the remaining twenty-two were existing titles in the Everyman's Library catalog and shared the same
serial number. All of these editions had the letter 'A' appended to the end of the serial number and came with a clear
plastic cover with red bands along top and bottom, except for 649A (Selected Fiction of Henry James) which had a custom
paper dust jacket.
