477 pgs. Very Good condition blue cloth hardcover, attractive gilt and black lettering and decorations to front and spine. Floral printed endpapers. Light rubbing to cloth at edges and corners, with some slight general smudging to cloth. Binding sound, internally clean and unmarked but for the ghostly outline of a scrap of paper probably used as a bookmark pgs 6,7. Benjamin Disraeli (1804-1881) the 1st Earl of Beaconsfield, was a British Prime Minister and statesman who also authored numerous works of literature, including "Lothair". Endymion was thought by some critics to be a couched memoir, with "St. Barte" intended as a caricature of Wm. Makepeace Thackeray. #2478.
