Thank you, Ron - that's great. Surely saves time on this end.

Hello, and welcome to Scribblemonger!

Yes, we honor the BT ImageURL field (which is the UIEE IM field) when inventory is uploaded. We will display the linked image on the detailed item page. Currently, the search result page (which shows abbreviated information for between 25 and 200 results) will display an icon indicating an image is available when there is a linked image.

Hi,

Can Scribblemonger display remotedly stored images? I have an inventory currently of over 6,000 books, and each has an image that I have already uploaded online. These photos are accessed by some other listing services, such as Antiqbook and Chrislands. I can upload zip files of my 6,000+ existing images, but it would be simpler if Scribblemonger could use the image URL that is contained in BookTrakker's ImageURL field to display the image.

Looking forward to your response.

Tell folks about us! We need sellers to spread the word to other sellers, but more especially to their book buyers. We hope that sellers are taking advantage of our lower cost structure to reduce the price of their books accordingly at Scribblemonger; we want to entice buyers to buy more books!!! EVERYBODY wins!

Image upload support is now available. You can upload .jpg, .gif, .bmp, or any of these types zipped in a .zip file.

Uploads via ftp go to the root of your home directory. Image uploads can also be initiated from the upload area on the 'my account' page.

Ron, yes, I use an FTP program to upload picture files or a zipped pictures file to various sites. That is how I prefer to do it, just as I use FTP to upload my inventory and inventory changes to the bisibat server.

I am looking forward to this valuable addition to your site. Very exciting indeed.

Image upload is being added this week. We're very interested in how folks would like to see it work. Both individual and zip support are being planned.

It seems like the inventory number as the filename is the most common practice. BookTrakker supports image upload, and I believe uploads a zip file as Images.zip. What other methods are used? Does anyone use an ftp client to upload images?

Thanks for the kind comments. Hopefully we'll all benefit from this site.

Hi Ron/Scott:

Please let us know your time schedule for allowing bulk uploads of jpg book images (Similar to other bookselling sites, our jpg numbers will correspond to our book inventory numbers). Some sites allow the jpgs to be zipped, and that is a help also.

Thanks for all your work starting SBE. Uploading via UIEE has been very easy and everything works great.

We desperately need an independent, inexpensive, and easy to use bookselling site like this one. Let us know if there is anything we can do to help.
